Cadet "O" Rides 4 October 2008

It was a bright, sunny, crisp morning of the 4th of October, with the smell of fresh asphalt filling the air from the newly paved runway at Ocala International Airport, where Cadets and Officers from Marion County Composite Squadron gathered at Landmark Aviation for Cadet Orientation rides.
Lt Col Paul Blystone, Lt Col Rick Bishop and Major Ron Arrowsmith from Marion County and Captain Bryan Smith from Gainesville Squadrons positioned Civil Air Patrols N4949N and N99087 aircraft on the tarmac for pre flight inspection with the 9 Marion County Cadets that were to receive their First Cadet Orientation Flight.
During the course of that Saturday all 9 cadets received a most rewarding aviation experience of their first flight in an aircraft.
They all were ecstatic after the end of their turn in the right hand seat of the aircraft to have some hands on flying with the 3 experienced Pilots. They all came back with the wish of some day being able to get their pilots license thru the Squadron’s Solo Scholarship.
Pictures and 4 movies taken by 2nd Lt Raymond Burke have been posted on the Marion County Composite Squadron Website at http://www.mccs-cap.org/o_rides-10-08.html
All are looking forward to their next 4 flights in the future.
The cadets were presented their First Flight Certificates at the Squadron’s meeting on 7 October 2008.
