On 5 July, the Marion County Composite Squadron’s Color Guard presented the Colors at the opening of a baseball game between the Belleview Bulldogs and the United States Armed Forces Baseball in Ocala Florida.
The United States Armed Forces Baseball team is composed of active and reserve members of all the services. They have been Goodwill Ambassadors around the nation as well as some other countries during the past year. Members rotate in and out of the team as they return or come from many military assignments around the world.
Four members of the team during the opening faced each other in front of the pitchers mound and passed an America Flag, as the poem “Old Glory” was recited in a heart warming patriotic rendition, from one member to the other.
The four then faced the colors being held at Present Arms as the “National Anthem “was played.
The Squadron Color Guard consisted of Cadets Johnson, Tamblingson and Osborne
