South East Region Color Guard Champions

On 18 April 2009, the Florida Wing Color Guard competed in the South East Region Competition held at Maxwell AFB, Alabama.
The team consisted of C/CMSgt Samuel Dauss, Team Commander, C/MSgt Mary Dauss, C/Sra Richard Burke and C/A1C Joseph Miller with C/TSgt Caleb Adair as an alternate. The team was escorted by Lt Col Margarita Mesones and Major Frank H Swain Jr.
Their untiring practices resulted in the following accomplishments:

C/TSgt Mary Dauss won the Female Fleet foot award with a 1 mile run time of 8:47.
Practices continue for the team as they prepare for the National Color Guard Competition on 8 thru 13 July 2009 at the Evergreen Air & Space Museum in McMinnville, OR where the famous Spruce Goose is on display.
