Marion County Cadet Solo’s

C/CMSgt Heather Osborn made 2 touch and go’s and a final landing at Ocala International Airport, thus completing her solo pilot’s training. The flight training was conducted at Ocala Aviation.       The Marion County Composite Squadron paid for part of that training thru a Flight Scholarship. Ocala Aviation furnished aircraft at a reduced price plus the Instructor did the training at no cost as they are members of Civil Air Patrol. Her instructor waited for her in order to perform the customary cutting of the shirt tail to denote completion of solo pilot training.
That evening C/CMSgt Osborne was presented her Solo Wings and her parents pinned them on her at the weekly Squadron Meeting.
Since the inception of the Solo Scholarship 4 cadets have gone thru the training plus 2 of those cadets have gone onto an additional Private Pilots Training Scholarship furnished by the Marion County Aerospace Foundation with only 1 cadet having completed it.

Mr. Osborne, Heather's Father, C/CMSgt Heather Osborne,
Captain Kielty, Squadron Commander
and Mrs. Osborne, Heaher's Mother helped pin on her Solo Wings
